This cover is the SCCS unofficial first day cover of Postal Service's se-tenant pair of stamps honoring the Gemini Space Program (Scott #1331-32). SCCS had enough of the "Gemini Twin" stamps flown from official first day "city", Kennedy Space Center in Florida, to Houston, Texas, to complete about 200 covers with a Houston, Texas cancel. Hand canceled at Houston, Texas on September 29, 1967, the cover also features a single of the Ed White NASA Local Post stamp that was printed bi-color in blue-grey and black ink. The NLP local was canceled with a NASA Local Post commemorative cancel in purple ink. The cover also has a rubber stamped cachet in green ink.
